The in-flight monthly magazine skyward is placed in all seat pockets on JAL’s international and domestic flights. It targets 360,000 passengers per month on international flights and 2.5 million passengers per month on domestic flights. The magazine is filled with engaging travel content, including curated features on destinations both abroad and within Japan from a unique perspective, interviews with notable figures, thought-provoking essays, event information, as well as updates and special offers from the JAL Group.
Different versions are provided for each . The editorial pages in the international version are divided into foreign and Japanese language sections. The Japanese-language section targets Japanese traveling abroad. With two overseas and one domestic special features focusing on interesting aspects of travel, location, people, cuisine, and culture. The foreign-language section which comprise of English and Chinese, targets foreign passengers and introduces the appeal of Japan and Asia. Research has shown that both men and women of all ages enjoy skyward.
